War Situation caused by Israel’s Attack on Iran
Nepal Communist Party (Masal) has taken serious note of the war situation caused by Israel’s attack on Iran. The establishment of the State of Israel followed the occupation of Palestinian land, supported by American imperialism, and the forcible expulsion of the Palestinian people. From their home line the creation of the State of Israel is the result of extremely inhuman and cruel actions from its inception.
Since its establishment, the Palestinian people have been engaged in a prolonged struggle for the liberation of their homeland for nearly seven and a half decades, while Israel has continuously oppressed them with the backing of American imperialism. The Palestinian liberation movement is one of the most challenging and prolonged struggles in human history. The current war between Iran and Israel is also a byproduct of the situation created by the Palestinian liberation movement and the ongoing oppression by Israel. A lasting solution to this issue can only come with the return of the Palestinian people to their homeland and the establishment of an independent and sovereign Palestinian state.
The establishment of such a state does not imply statelessness for the Jewish people currently residing in Israel, and we support their right to an independent state. In reality, the primary reason for the hostile relationship between the Palestinian people and Israel is the role of the United States and the reactionary Israeli government, which enforces U.S. imperialist policy. Both American imperialism and the reactionary Israeli regime are common enemies of both the Palestinian and Jewish peoples. Only when both peoples are free fromthese forces will there be no reason for hostility between them, and friendly relations can be established.
The United States’ main objective behind the creation of the State of Israel has been to establish dominance over Central Asia. On one hand, it has set up military bases in several Central Asian countries, and on the other, it uses Israel as a stronghold to extend its influence in the region.
The creation of the State of Israel is rooted in the grossly unjust oppression of the Palestinian people. Therefore, many countries in Central Asia and justice- loving people around the world support the just cause of the Palestinian people. In this context, it is important to note that numerous countries and armed groups in Central Asia have long been resisting Israel and opposing its oppressive policies toward the Palestinians. As a result, Israel has hostile relations with many of these nations. To continue its aggressive policies against the Palestinians, Israel has carried out attacks on several countries and armed groups in the region. Iran, in particular, has adopted a firm and uncompromising stance in support of Palestine and against Israeli aggression. Consequently, Israel has recently launched a major attack on Iran. We strongly oppose and condemn this attack by Israel. It is also evident that the United States is behind the assault on Iran. Therefore, we firmly denounce the imperialist policies of the United States too.
The possibility of the attack on Iran by the U.S. or Israel escalating into a broader or even global war cannot be ruled out. Similarly, there is a risk that this conflict will not remain local or regional but could disrupt global peace. The root causes of the ongoing war between Iran and Israel are, firstly, the expulsion of the Palestinian people from their homeland with U.S. support, and secondly, Israel’s attack on Iran. As such, there is a global need to condemn both the United States and Israel. It is also worth noting that the Government of Nepal, as in the past, has not adopted a clear policy on this matter and has merely called for peace.
Israel has claimed that its attack on Iran was aimed at preventing Iran from developing nuclear weapons. Undoubtedly, nuclear weapons pose a serious threat to all of humanity. Hence, we once again emphasize the global elimination of nuclear weapons, rather than allowing any country to develop them. This hasalways been our policy. Although Israel’s possession of nuclear weapons has not been officially confirmed, it is widely believed. In this context, Israel’s unilateral attack on Iran under the pretext of nuclear development cannot be considered just or legitimate. It is clear that the real purpose of Israel’s attack on Iran is to further deprive the Palestinian people of their rightful claims and, at the same time, to serve U.S. imperialist interests in Central Asia. Therefore, we strongly oppose the imperialist policies of both the United States and Israel.
Israel is currently carrying out a large-scale massacre of Palestinians in the Gaza Strip. The strategy of the United States and Israel appears to be the complete eradication of the Palestinian people from Gaza. More than fifty thousand people have been killed so far, including a large number of women and children and Israel is actively disrupting food supplies in the region. Numerous hospitals and educational institutions have also been destroyed. This growing humanitarian crisis demands urgent and serious global attention.
A significant number of Nepali citizens reside in Israel. The ongoing war between Iran and Israel has raised concerns about their safety. We urge the Government of Nepal to give serious attention to this issue.
