Resolution : Secure the victory of the ceasefire now as the fruit of the Palestinian liberation struggle and international mass solidarity!

Resolution:

Secure the victory of the ceasefire now as the fruit of the Palestinian liberation struggle and international mass solidarity!

Everywhere in Gaza and around the world, people are celebrating the announcement of the ceasefire. The PFLP writes: “The ceasefire agreement is the first step toward ending the genocide, and the steadfastness of our people and their valiant resistance broke the zionist war machine and imposed the agreement.”[1]

The ceasefire is also a success of the millions of people around the world who have shown solidarity with the Palestinian people. This has become the largest anti-imperialist mass movement since World War II. Young people are a particularly active force in this movement. In many countries, the working class has taken active responsibility with strikes and blockades of arms transports. The Sumud and Freedom Flotilla sent a signal that was noticed worldwide. Revolutionaries were often an active part of the protests.

On the basis of numerous groundbreaking resolutions and an intensive, sometimes heated exchange of opinions and experiences, ICOR has sharpened its revolutionary profile, provided orientation, and fought at the forefront of the entire spectrum of mass demonstrations, strikes, fundraising campaigns, and, not least, the peace ships to Gaza, showing its colors. Now the worldwide movement is entering a new phase: to actually realize “free Palestine” and to prove that even the strongest imperialism is ultimately inferior to the will for freedom of the workers and the broad masses of the world.

Let us remember: the result of the heroic resistance of the Vietnamese people and the solidarity of millions was the fact that the US, the strongest military power in the world, was defeated and forced to withdraw! This Waterloo of the imperialists must and will be repeated. For the first time in two years, the guns are silent. Trump and Netanyahu had to make significant concessions: until recently, the entire Palestinian people were to be expelled, Gaza and the West Bank occupied, Greater Israel was their aim, and a profitable US Riviera real estate project was to be built from scratch. Now they had to agree to a ceasefire and further steps forward were achieved. For example, around 2,000 Palestinian prisoners are to be released. In return, the Palestinian forces have agreed to release the remaining Israeli hostages or hand over their bodies.

Donald Trump now wants to be celebrated as a peacemaker and is outraged that he did not receive the Nobel Peace Prize. In reality, the entire occupation, genocide, and murderous warfare would not have been possible without the support of the US and, not least, Germany and the EU!

We demand:

Immediate free access for food and other relief supplies, as well as for organizations that want to rebuild the country together with the Palestinian people! Immediate end to the blockade, which violates international law!

Every destroyed house, every destroyed school, every destroyed hospital is the result of imperialist crime, which imperialism commits with capital and weapons! For this reason, the rebuilding of Gaza should not begin with new shackles, with the imperialists offering a new occupation under the guise of “aid”. Instead it should begin with their paying the price of their destructive fury.

Exclusive Palestinian control over decisions on the use of all funds!

The ceasefire is a significant victory. However, Israel continues to occupy half of the Gaza Strip in the first phase and controls all land access. At the same time, we know from many countries such as Haiti, Mali, and Yugoslavia the harmful role of so-called protection forces, as are now planned under the leadership of US imperialism. So let us remain vigilant. The international solidarity movement must therefore remain vigilant and not slacken in its unwavering solidarity!

In 2024, ICOR concluded a solidarity pact with the Al-Awda health network in Gaza and has been working tirelessly on it ever since. We are now ready to start rebuilding on the ground as soon as the Al-Awda Health Association considers it possible. We have already collected hundreds of thousands of euros, a construction plan agreed with our Palestinian friends is in place, and over 100 brigade members are ready for construction work, medical aid, and work with children and young people – with Arabic interpreters. Let us now prepare immediately for the implementation of the solidarity pact! Let us internationalize the collection of donations and the mobilization of brigade members. Let us plan the concrete reconstruction in detail, collect building materials, tools, and medical supplies, and prepare the logistics. Let us prepare all brigades, including public relations and cultural work with children and youth! Let us research modern technologies for ecological reconstruction! And above all: let us collect the minimum still necessary $500,000 for this!

ICOR calls on its member organizations:

  • Let’s protect Palestine and oppose any attempt to break the ceasefire!
  • Complete withdrawal of all Israeli occupation forces!
  • Let’s continue to fight for a free, democratic, and self-determined Palestine!
  • Collect donations worldwide for the “Gaza shall live!” campaign for the reconstruction of Al-Awda Hospital! Trust in the masses and rely on them.
  • Continue to strengthen the worldwide solidarity movement, recruit brigadists, and train them! Develop international work by the ICOR brigades for Gaza in your countries! Form sections of the international ICOR brigades in your countries for this purpose! Join the ICOR brigades for Gaza!
  • Strengthen the ICOR!
